Stop and smell the roses in the Beaumont Botanical Gardens
Just a five-minute drive from Interstate-10 within the Beaumont city limits a taste of paradise awaits visitors with a beauty and peacefulness that makes stress melt away. Beaumont Botanical Gardens, open free to the public from dawn to dusk every day, is eleven landscaped acres that provides a unique respite from a hurried world.
Developed by the Beaumont Council of Garden Clubs for the citizens of southeast Texas over fifty years ago the gardens now hosts visitors from all over the world. In addition to the outside grounds the 10,000 square foot Warren Loose Conservatory, containing a vast array of tropical and other exotic plants, can boast being one of the largest conservatories in a public garden in Texas.
Outside, the paved Friendship Walk leads hikers, wheelchair adventurists, strollers and scooters from one side of the gardens to the other to enjoy fish in the pond, the waterfall, a picnic area, rose garden and an eclectic collection of flora and fauna including many varieties of butterflies and birds.
The lovely Garden Center building with views of the gardens, conservatory and grounds may be rented for social events and organizational meetings.
